Fresh from his appearance on Conan O'Brien on Monday, Marc Broussard
shows us how he funk & roll! It would seems he's more popular than
ever, selling out Philladelphia, Maryland, & Chicago.
When I was
sent "Real Good Thing", I noticed that the MP3 tag shows "Track 3 of
60". SIXTY. It's no wonder the guy keeps coming back! Keep Coming Back was released yesterday on Atlantic Records, and, I felt it was full of blues & funk. He definitely has that southern Bayou sound.
The disc that was sent to me had a very restrictive DRM on it, so I had
to listen to the album in my car (I don't really have a regular CD
player, I guess), which surprisingly wasn't too bad... although I
would've liked to experience it on my headphones.
Also, since I
couldn't take notes, I remembered these tracks were good: 1, 3, 7, and
8. I remember liking 8 ("Man for Life") a lot. Track 7 ("When It's
Good") features LeAnn Rimes - which you can hear the entire album and
judge for yourself on aol.com.
You do need Flash 9 (which I hate because the audio dies on Firefox if
you have too many tabs open) and aol also installs their plugins. I
never got it to work out, but maybe you guys will have better luck.
Since I am a cover lover, I will be checking out last year's S.O.S.: Save Our Soul, his cover album.
Be sure to watch his Conan appearance via Hulu.com:
