W♥M Podcast #20: Home Taping is Killing Music

Comments

I just realized that all those songs might sounds discourage - they are all excerpts (with the exception of AIDS Wolf, which is a full song).

The music all serve as transitional or illustrations between our talks and I thought you guys might want to know the name and bands of each songs (in case you love what you heard).

[this is good]
Nice one. Going to lurk for some titles mentioned.
About buying 1 dollar CDs and stuff.
Firstly note you're lucky to have all this culture of music shops around you. In my country it's only starting.
But the main thing is that clicking instead of digging in the shop but after all it's the same thing.
95% will go only to the titles on the main pages of iTunes, Pandora or Last.fm. 5% will dig down to the deeps of the Internet and will discover something new. That's what so good about the Internet - it's so big and deep, that works just the same as the real world. For instance, do you know what I, a law student, was doing while listening to this podcast? Mending my water tap! And I read how to do it on the Internet! But does it mean that now all the plumbers will lose their jobs? Don't think so.
Vu here, speaking on everyone's behalf, I have to admit that I didn't think about countries outside of the US. I will say that part of the thrill of shopping for music, for me anyway, has always been finding that gem (for a good price) in a pile of unwanted music. I seriously can spend all days digging through piles of cds :) ... I guess a lot of people won't know the joy of doing that, trading it for convenience.

For instance, I bought 3 or 4 VOLUMES (books/CDs) that are long out of print for $4.95 each. This is such a good price, as originally they sold these for $20 each.
