Sorry to see you go Dennis...
Dennis DePianto (aka D.D. Meanie), passed away after a short battle with cancer in St Vincent's Hopsital in Melbourne on February 14th, 2008. Dennis was the guitarist in the Melbourne band, The Meanies, from 1988 until 1995. He suffered from muscular dystrophy as a child yet, but this was never to stop him. The Meanies were one of those bands that seemed like an enigma to me. I was just a little too young to truly appreicate them, but old enough to catch them regularly on Rage (when you were too young to go out boozing but still rebellious enough to stay up really late). Although I would never have recognised D.D. Meanie from a bar of soap, something still twanged in my heart as I read about this.
