When I first heard the first track off this album titled "Under the Radar" I was pretty smitten. I kind of knew I was going to like the rest. The next two tracks confirmed that. They also do a wonderful cover of "Runaway" originally written and performed by Del Shannon. [Vu, you think maybe you can get that up in here too? Pleeaassssse]

The band itself hail from Austin TX and formed in 2001. Comprised of Kevin (Keyboards, John (guitars & keyboards), and Brian Mason (drums). I suppose that's where MASONic comes from? I didn't ask the band, but it only makes sense right? Anyway Trey D'Amico (bass) and Eryn Gettys (vocals) were later added in 2004 to "round out the sound". Which they do. Kevin and John are the principle song writers and bring the synthy pop, while Brian and Trey make for an awesome rythem section. As for Eryn, she brings the lovelyness, because her voice is just so pretty. My writing skills won't allow me to truly describe the beauty in her voice, I'm limited. Her voice has a ghostly lucious quality. I think the second song I picked really showcases her voice, so please do enjoy. It's called "Moving On".

This is the bands fourth LP and will be released in December of his year so definitely check it out. I'll leave you now with the second song I picked. The chorus kind of reminds me a little bit of Lilly Allen. It's cute. :) Oh yeah, the bands sound is a bit of a noise pop type sound. Bands to be compared to would be Stereolab, Yo La Tengo and there is definitely some Brian Wilson influence in there.
