International Metal

Actually, you'd be surprised. It's not uncommon for metal bands from non-English speaking countries to sing in English because it makes it easier for them to get their music out to English speaking countries, who tend to be really enthusiastic about metal. Bands that don't do that tend to have trouble "making it" in the UK and the US. But a few examples off the top of my head: Emperor (Norway), Mayhem (Norway), Running Wild (Germany), Sepultura (Brazil), and literally countless others.

I totally want to hear a metal band covering Tina Turner. That sounds awesome.
I think more than anything, I was just surprised that their English was actually really good and comprehensible.
Yeah. I wonder if they proofread their lyrics. That would be rather amusing, actually.

Didn't Skid Row or one of those late 80s/early 90s bands have a song called 18 & Life?

OMG, I think you may be right - it's a cover song! The promo copy I have doesn't have liner notes, but I should've realized based on how 80s this song sounds!

yup

Ricky didn't join the army in that one though....

LOL explains their English skillz! (though most Germans I've come across speak it pretty well!)
I just misinterpret "streets as soldier" as joining the army - I'll have to make the correction soon. But yeah that would explain the comprehensiveness of this song....

lol, I didn't catch the "street soldier" line in the song!
OK cranky, I've promoted your and Soup's comment to the main article - and included the said-song... it totally sounds so very 80s hard rock now that I have that Skid Row knowledge.
I like the Finnish band's sound. I'd rather a band sing in their own tongue. The lyrics regularly don't translate well or they don't jive very well with the music.
interesting.
