Do you miss the 90s?

the 'Seattle Sound' of the early to mid 90s is what got me thru hi skool. 3 particular important albums: Soundgarden's Superunknown, Pearl Jam's Ten and Nirvana's Nevermind
I always thought it was possible that Better Than Ezra's name came from Dinner At The Homesick Restaurant by Anne Tyler (who wrote The Accidental Tourist, among others). I never thought too much about it, and didn't know they'd never revealed the source, and I read the book in HS way before the band was around and never read it again. BUT...there was a character named Ezra and it always made me think of that. The End.
I promoted your theory. Well, you know I have always confuse Better Than Ezra with Letters to Cleo, so my lame theory is that Ezra was a pen pal or something :).

my father is named ezra, after his father before him. it is not a very popular name but i have met two people other then my father with the same name. i bought my mother a better then ezra shirt one year and she proudly wears it around my father whenever she can!

I didn't really listen to these bands back in the 90s but it's nice reading about them again :) I love the name Ezra.
Soundgarden are my favourite band, Cornell my favourite singer. Too bad his new record sounds like a madonna album...except for the fact that it makes madonna seem like grunge rock in comparison ..
It's technically "The Tacoma Sound".

(Yes, I differentiate between Tacoma and Seattle. Oh, and Tacoma tries very hard to make sure that difference is understood.)

(Yes, I live in Washington, but on the east side of the Cascades.)
No, I don't miss the '90s.

There was some interesting stuff in the electronica/synthpop and hip-hop genres, but I did not care for the garage "grunge" rock that was so sweeping the nation. No, not really at all. I will always adore flannel clothing, but... that's about it.
i miss the good bands of the 90's bad religion, mighty mighty boss tones, and so on real big fish lol

Better than Ezra is back? Very interesting, I'll have to give their latest a good listen...
those were some awesome punkrawk bands you mentioned!
Green Day's Dookie paved the way...and catapulted punkrawk/skapunk bands like Rancid, NOFX, Sublime, No Doubt etc
i miss the 90s...and Dookie
