Darkestrah - The Great Silk Road

Hi, i love Metal, but Black Metal is an unknown area for me, i know Cradle Of Filth and the song Nymphetamine, a female fronted Black Metal band, is that rare, i know Symphonic metal bands are all female fronted, great review by the way, and i agree with you on the name, but as you said, if the music is good who cares about names, after all, it's about the music
Actually, there are a lot of symphonic metal bands out there fronted by dudes, although I have to admit a strong enough personal bias against that sort of thing to not be able to name most of them ;)

But Cradle of Filth, as you mentioned, flirts with that sort of thing, although it generally sounds pretty tacked on in their songs, I think. But I'm pretty sure they throw in lots of female guest vocalists. Dani Filth, believe it or not, is technically a guy. I also reviewed a couple albums by bands called Xystus and Suspyre a while back that might fall under that umbrella, with pretty strong progressive leanings (the Xystus album is a literal "rock opera!").
Dark Moor ring any bells lol, i love that band, the only song by Cradle of Filth i like is Nymphetamine, Dani Filth is technically a guy lmao, nice way of putting it, Xystus i heard them, they were ok, i prefer Power, Gothic, Symphonic, Christian, Heavy and NWOBHM metal to be honest though, Children Of Bodom are an ok Black/Death metal band, especially their first three albums, as for Prog metal, i never liked it to be honest, Forsken by Dream Theater i like alright
Yeah. We don't have much in common far as metal goes! I prefer really raw, heavy black metal above all else. Bone Awl is my favorite metal band right now. It sounds like two skinheads tired of playing in punk bands playing black metal instead. Really primitive caveman black metal. I've always kinda found that really clean, over the top production kind of destroys all the real emotion and anger in metal, although I dig stuff like Agalloch's early stuff. The Mantle is definitely a pretty great album. As for death metal, I'd say Nile is the standard I judge everything by, although as for newer stuff, Cannabis Corpse is the best thing I've heard lately. A death metal band formed in tribute to smoking tons of weed and listening to Cannibal Corpse. Hah! Somehow they're a lot more legit than Cannibal Corpse, though, and their lyrics are pretty hilarious with song titles like "Mummified in Bongwater" and other ridiculousness similar to that.

Yeah lol, we have 0 in common lmao, nice talking to you all the same, cool bands you listen to i bet, not for me though, well, take care and thanks for replying, if you ever drift over to power symphonic etc lol, be sure and lwt me know, i'd like to hear from you

take care and thanks for replying
